Painter. Crypto Artist. Born East Berlin, 1965. Living in Tbilisi since 1996.

Born in East Berlin, a few streets from Checkpoint Charlie. Named Hans after a friend of his mother’s who was shot fleeing over the Wall.

Discovered painting in the East German army — a Van Gogh book in an empty Sunday library, seven comrades watching from the barracks bunks. Studied art in Dresden and at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Came to Georgia in 1996 for a German teaching job in Rustavi. Never left.

Paints in an expressionist tradition rooted in the Caucasus — horses, steppe, borderlands, the weight of history on a landscape. Has shown in Tbilisi galleries since 1998. Since 2019 active in crypto art, minting on SuperRare and Tezos/objkt.com.

Also runs the adventure travel company Kaukasus-Reisen from Tbilisi — guided and self-drive tours through Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Lives between the city and Saguramo.
